QS 1 Certified
G.C. Zarnas & Co, Inc. is one of only a handful of industrial specialty coatings applicators nationwide to be certified as a QS 1 Advanced Quality Management System (QMS) contractor by the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC), the leading source of information on surface preparation, coating selection, coating application, environmental regulations, and health and safety issues that affect the protective coatings industry. The QS 1 procedure encompasses the in-process inspection of surface preparation and application of protective coatings and linings for new construction and maintenance for industrial, commercial, and marine service.
QP 1 Certified
G.C. Zarnas is QP 1 certified, which is a nationally recognized program that evaluates the practices of industrial painting contractors in key areas of business. The complex nature of coating systems and the specific surface preparations required for these systems have made the QP 1 guidelines vital to the longevity of applied protective coatings. The program is designed to provide facility owners and specification writers a means to determine whether the painting contractor has the capability to perform surface preparations and coating application in the field on complex industrial structures.
QP 2 Certified
QP 2 is a supplement to QP 1 that evaluates the contractor’s ability to perform industrial hazardous paint removal in a field operation. As a certified lead and asbestos contractor, we specialize in the removal, disposal and encapsulation of these hazardous materials from many structures including commercial buildings, power plants, steel plants and petrochemical and chemical facilities.
QP 8 Certified
G.C. Zarnas is a QP 8 certified contractor. This certification is intended to be used by facility owners (or their protective coating specialists or specifying engineers) to ensure that contractors hired to install polymer coatings or surfacings on concrete and other cementitious surfaces in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities have the primary technical capabilities and organizational structure necessary to do the work.
